Water purification and disinfection.<\/p>\n<p>Sodium hydroxide 50% special hazards associated with<\/p>\n<p>When diluting the sodium hydroxide solution, so much heat may be released that the solution may begin to boil. Do not use a solid water stream as it may splash and scatter sodium hydroxide solution. Contact with certain metals (eg aluminum, zinc) can form an explosive gas mixture in the air.<\/p>\n<p>Sodium hydroxide 50% storage: Store tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Building materials, lighting systems and ventilation systems must be made of corrosion-resistant materials.
